We're a private fitness studio located in Mt. Pleasant that specializes in group fitness programs. We offer on-site fitness classes lead by certified fitness professionals along with off-site corporate wellness programs.

On this page I'll start by sharing with you why I started my studio and what makes it different than any other fitness facility in Charleston.

If you watched my video you heard me talk about my experience with walking into a health club for the first time.

My initial experience with health clubs...was I ever in for a surprise!

I can remember the day in vivid detail like it was just yesterday. To say I felt intimidated and uncomfortable with the whole gym scene is a big time understatement. There was all this equipment that I literally had no idea how to use or where to even begin.

I started watching other women to see what they were doing but that just felt awkward. I could sense that everybody in the room knew I didn’t have a clue about what I was doing and it was embarrassing to say the least.

To make matters worse, I could feel the glaring stares focused on me from across the room as I wandered around aimlessly through the gym.

It couldn’t have been any longer than five minutes before I said to myself, “Lynne you can’t do this!” and I made an immediate b-line for the door.

I almost gave up on starting a workout program, but then...

Just in the nick of time a good friend saw me heading for the door and stopped me. She could see the fear in my eyes and it was evident she understood exactly what I was feeling.

My friend just happened to be the head fitness instructor for this gym and she told me about a new small group personal training program she had just started for women, and as fate would have it a workout was just getting ready to start!

How I got hooked on small group personal training...

To make a long story short, she convinced me to join the other women and after my very first workout I was completely hooked! I’m telling you this story because I want you to know that I completely understand if the Charleston health club and gym scene isn't for you.

It certainly wasn’t for me but I did find something that was. Exercising with other women who wanted the same things I did, having the guidance and instruction from a personal trainer, and not feeling intimidated was exactly what I needed.

Almost walking out the door to becoming the head fitness instructor...I never would have believed it!

From the day I started my first group fitness workout I went from being someone who had never exercised regularly, struggled staying consistent, and lacked motivation into a person who was so inspired by my new found passion that I changed careers and became a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor.

Now I’m not saying you’ll wind up being so passionate about fitness that you’ll change careers, but what I am saying is that if you’ve struggled finding the right “fit” with a fitness program there’s still hope.

You don't have to go it alone or be frustrated stuck in a body you're not happy with anymore...

I think many women feel the same way today that I did when I made the decision years ago to start an exercise program. I was overweight having just had a baby, I had little energy, didn’t feel sexy, and my self confidence was going down the drain.

Here’s a quick list of what I remember feeling, see if anything sounds familiar.

The weight gain and changes in my body had negatively affected my self-esteem. I was tired of wearing clothes that hid my body and having to cover up my problem areas!
My diet only compounded the problem as I looked to find “comfort” in foods to mask the pain and depression that was setting in.
I found myself avoiding social functions, going to parties, and doing things I had once enjoyed as I felt embarrassed with how my body looked.
I was so worn out after coming home from work that I just crashed on the couch. I simply felt lousy and had little motivation to do much of anything because I couldn’t find the energy.
I didn’t feel sexy anymore. I worried about what my husband was thinking and wondered if he still found me attractive. Not a good feeling to carry around!

In short, I just didn’t want to look or feel this way any more. I wanted to be happy and get my old self back! I knew that I had to start working out but had it not been for the group exercise class I probably never would've stuck with it.

How many times had I bought exercise equipment that I rarely used, tried fitness videos, and everything else only to find I was terribly inconsistent and ultimately unsuccessful with seeing results?

I made the change from being unfit, unhealthy, and unhappy and so can you!

I hope that my story inspires you so you don't give up on exercise and working out. The REAL secret to seeing results is having accountability, structure, and guidance in the right environment so you can stay consistent.
